Cor Meibion Dinas Bangor Malc Voice Choir
Bangor City Male Voice Choir
Album artwork for Bangor City Male Voice Choir, provided through the SAIN Records collection on Wikimedia Commons.
Inside the image.
A square album cover in deep red, with a large inset photograph across the upper-middle portion. The photograph shows a sizeable choir arranged in several rows inside a church. Most of the singers wear black suits or dresses with white shirts and bow ties; several stand out in white jackets near the centre. The group faces the camera, spanning almost the full width of the photograph. A few figures and dark clothing at the front make a dense, uneven line along its lower edge.
Behind them, the church interior is warm-toned: tall wooden panels and furnishings flank a central section of pale stone or plaster, with narrow vertical windows or decorative panels rising behind the choir. The photograph is framed by a pale cream border and a dark drop shadow, giving it the appearance of a mounted print. It sits above a broad red margin at the bottom and smaller red margins at the sides; the overall background is otherwise plain, with slight tonal variation.
White, uppercase lettering appears above and below the photograph. The top line, “CÔR MEIBION DINAS BANGOR”, is centred and set in a clean, narrow sans-serif style. Beneath the photograph, “BANGOR CITY MALE VOICE CHOIR” is centred in a larger, similarly light-weight sans-serif. The image is photographic, with the text and red field forming a simple graphic frame. The choir photograph is somewhat soft at this scale, so fine facial and architectural details are indistinct.
What the image evokes.
The saturated red field gives the cover a ceremonial, almost theatrical presence, while the inset photograph feels like a formal record of a gathering. The choir’s dark clothing forms a broad, compact band, punctuated by white shirts and the brighter jackets at the centre; that contrast draws the eye towards the middle without breaking the group’s collective shape.
The church setting lends the scene a sense of occasion, and the neat rows and direct gaze make the photograph feel composed and public-facing. Yet the close-packed figures and slight softness keep it from feeling austere: individual silhouettes and variations in posture remain visible within the unified arrangement. The pale border and shadow suggest a framed photograph laid onto a red programme or sleeve, balancing the warmth of the interior with a crisp, graphic outer design.

Lettering & observation notes
- CÔR MEIBION DINAS BANGOR — Centred above the photograph
- BANGOR CITY MALE VOICE CHOIR — Centred below the photograph
- The photograph is soft and relatively small, so facial details and finer features of the church interior cannot be made out clearly.
