Culture begins
with an image.
A record sleeve can be your first encounter with a piece of music. A film poster can stay with you long after the credits. dbcovers brings these images together with the context needed to use them thoughtfully.
An archive with a source
The catalogue contains 460 music covers from SAIN and 4 film posters from the RDIFQ project. Every listed record has its own source link, attribution and licence information. This is an archival collection, not a comprehensive database of current releases.
Context comes first
Each image has a source, a credited party, a specific licence version and a credit you can copy. Previews preserve the complete frame. Displayed dimensions are those of the available source file; they are not a claim of print quality.
How AI helps build dbcovers
Artificial intelligence is used to help catalogue the covers and posters, generate visual descriptions and aesthetic interpretations, and design and develop this website. AI supports the organisation of catalogue information, the writing of texts and the production of the site.
Descriptions may contain mistakes, and aesthetic associations are subjective readings rather than documented influences or statements of an artist’s intention. The artworks themselves are original source images; they are not generated or enhanced using AI. Each artwork retains its own source, attribution and licence.
Simple to explore
Browse, search and filter without an account. This catalogue is updated manually. There are no ads, third-party fonts or analytics scripts.
Privacy
Artwork is served from this website. Source and licence links lead to external websites. The catalogue does not use accounts, analytics scripts or tracking cookies.
Source checks
Records were prepared on 20 October 2026 from public Wikimedia Commons file pages. A public VRT notice records Wikimedia’s receipt of permission; dbcovers does not have access to the private correspondence. Source changes are not monitored automatically.
