The portrait is softly lit from the front-left: his hair and the left side of his face catch the light, while much of the right side of his face and the background recede into shadow. The lower jacket merges into the nearly black foreground.

The background is a plain, very dark charcoal field, with a muted grey-purple patch behind the man’s right shoulder. The framing is close, cutting off his arms and lower torso at the bottom and bringing his hair near the top edge. The figure occupies most of the right half, leaving a column of dark space at the left for the title and smaller lettering. The cover has no visible border.

At the upper left, “Tom Evans” is written in large, pale coral-pink cursive lettering with sweeping loops and long flourishes; “Tom” sits above “Evans”. Beneath it, “ENCORE!” appears in uppercase serif letters, coloured pale cream with a thin coral-pink line above and below. Lower down, a small “evda” sits over four lines of narrow white uppercase serif text: “EIRIAN OWEN”, “PAULA SMART”, “SIAN WIGLEY” and “WILLIAMS”. The text is left-aligned and contrasts sharply with the dark background. The overall image is photographic in appearance, with gentle softness and deep, low-key shadows.
