Inside the image.

His head fills most of the frame, turned slightly towards the viewer's right; he looks off to that side with a serious, absorbed expression. The top of his head and much of the left side of his face are cut by the edges. Strong light catches his forehead, nose and cheek, showing fine lines and skin texture, while deep shadow falls across the left side of the image. A dark, glossy-looking area behind his head at upper left blends into the shadows. At the right edge, the photograph gives way to a muted, layered backdrop of pale yellow, grey and lavender tones, with faint monochrome portrait-like sketches and other indistinct imagery. A narrow, pale horizontal strip crosses part of this background. The montage-like secondary details are subdued and partly obscured by the face.

The palette contrasts warm pink-red skin and dark brown-black shadow with a small area of bright lime green lettering and orange-red text. The face is sharply lit and rendered in photographic detail, while the side and lower-right background appears softer and more fragmented. There is no separate border; the image runs to the square edges.

In the upper-left quadrant, the title is stacked over the dark hair and shadow. “DAFYDD” appears in white, narrow uppercase letters above the much larger “IWAN” in pale lime green, also uppercase and bold. Below it, “CANA DY GÂN” is set in bright cyan-blue uppercase letters, with a circumflex visible over the final A. Near the lower-left corner, a small block of pale yellow Welsh text reads “Y Casgliad cyflawn / o’i ganeuon ar 12 CD”. Beneath this, orange-red uppercase lettering reads “THE COMPLETE COLLECTION – / 219 TRACKS”. The text is left-aligned, with the two name lines and cyan subtitle forming the main title group and the smaller collection details set close to the bottom edge.
